New to the curly game or still figuring things out? You've come to the right place! I know that when it comes to wash day, it is NO JOKE. It's more like a contact sport, and like any sport, you need to make sure you have all your tools for styling curly hair handy in order to be successful. In this blog post, I share the 5 tools that I always have handy when I'm styling my hair to make wash day go smoother. So next time you're going to wash your hair, when you're ready to style, be sure to have these at the ready...
Here are our 5 tools for styling curly hair:
1. Spray bottle
I don't know about you, but without any products, my hair gets dry in a matter of minutes. When applying products, you always want to make sure your hair ranges from damp to wet depending on your hair. Having a spray bottle for styling curly hair gets your hair wet and ready for product application.
2. Hair clips
No matter the length or density of your hair, sectioning your hair makes for a successful application. Using hair clips keeps large sections of hair out of the way while you focus your attention to a smaller area of hair.
3. Comb/detangling brush
Tangles are a big no-no when styling your hair. Before you wash-n-go or twist your hair, you want to smooth any tangles out of your hair. I like using either a comb that has both wide-tooth and fine-tooth in one or I like to use my detangle brush for styling my curly hair.
4. Microfiber towel
What I love most about using a microfiber towel over a terry cloth towel is that the microfiber towel is smaller and more light weight, making it easier to maneuver on your head over your shoulder etc. They're also more absorbent and help to blot water off of you making styling curly hair easier.
5. Wonder Curl products
This wouldn't be a Wonder Curl video without mentioning our products! Having the right products is just as importing as having the right tools when it comes to styling curly hair. You can have the best technique for styling your hair, but if your products don't work, it won't matter!
