My Thoughts: I Love Love Love it!! I wish I was sent the full sized products, because it definitely needs to be added to my stash lol! No worries though I’ll be purchasing them very soon. On to the review…
I started off applying the Hair Smoothie to clean wet (not dripping wet) hair in small sections starting from the back. The first thing I noticed about it has a creamy consistency and it’s not too thick, which makes easier to distribute through the hair. I expected it to be very oily being that castor oil and coconut oil being #2 and #3 on the ingredient list, but it wasn’t oily at all. I then detangled, which I do before braiding each braid to prevent a frizzy and tangled braid out, and applied the Hair Jelly. It looks and feels like most gels, but without the sticky residue feeling afterwards. And just like to Hair Smoothie it had a clean fresh scent, nothing to overly fragrant. I was anxious to see how it would turn out once it dried. I’ve read some reviews in the past that said because of the witch hazel in the jelly it may cause the hair to feel dry. …
Soft. Defined. Shine.
My hair felt great! I was expecting it to be a little stiff but it wasn’t…at all! I hardly ever use gels on my hair for braid outs. I only use them for wash and go’s and to slick my hair into a low ponytail and I rarely wear those styles. But I’m really digging this Jelly/Smoothie combo!!
I’m currently rocking 3rd day hair thanks to Wonder Curl and it still looks good….What ya’ll think??
Glow: It’s not crunchy and it doesn’t flake! I know we tend to associate most gel based products with leaving your hair dry and crunchy but the Get Set Hair Jelly actually left my hair looking moisturized, it was soft & touchable and it didn’t feel weighted down at all. Another thing I like about this product is that it comes in three different variations of sizes. I used the 2oz jar which is the smallest size and it retails for only $5. Initially I was a little apprehensive about whether or not 2oz would be enough for all of my hair. But to my surprise it was, and I have a pretty good amount of hair.
Glare: I can’t really call it a glare because my issue really has nothing to do with this product. I’ve mentioned it before but I have really soft hair which makes it difficult to achieve great next day hair. I’ve tried sleeping in a bonnet but that only mushes and flattens my curls. I’ve read suggestions about twisting your curls into sections before bed each night but….I’m a low maintenance kinda girl and trust me when I say that I don’t have the patience for that. Everyone is different but I’ve just found it easier for me to do a wash & go in the mornings and be done with it. Next day hair is another reason why I alternate from curly to straight a lot because obviously I don’t want to reset my hair with product ever single day.
Would I Recommend It? YES! I could really see myself using this as a staple product throughout the summer. If you’re not sure about buying the 16oz I’d definitely recommend trying the 2oz so you can get a feel of how it works for you.
Overall Glam: It’s a great product and it’s affordable! It worked well for my hair and I really like the results. I still have questions about my curl type, I really don’t know what type I am. My hair is generally more wavy at the roots and more coily and curly towards the ends. My hair tends to do its own thing so that varies too lol.
We love Nicole’s twist out using Wonder Curl products so much that we had to get her styling tips. She even included the corresponding pictures.
ands in the back but within a couple of days, thanks to humidity, the two strand twist were GONE! I had nothing but a fro. So, I used my WonderCurl Butter than Love Hair Whipped and re-twisted my hair.My hair was soft and shiny and held up great in the heat and humidity.

Shelli used Butter than Love Hair Pudding and Get Slick Hair Smoothie for her Twist-n-Curl.
To achieve this look: comb Get Slick Hair Smoothie through hair with a wide tooth comb. Then, apply BTL one section at a time and put each section in twists. Shelli used 8 twists here: 2 on each side in the front, one at the crown of her head, 2 in the middle of the back of her head and 1 at the nape. Then, she set the twists on flexis, put on a bonnet and went to bed to air dry overnight. In the morning, she pin curled until her curls were fully dry.
*Tip* If you don’t want to sleep on wet hair, sit under a hard bonnet hair dryer.
